In 1997, when the company operated under the name of Cuisines
Excel inc., the only owner at the time, Mr. Raynald Truchon,
started to make routed panel five-piece kitchen cabinet doors.
The purpose was to offer a wider selection of products to the
clientele than was then available on the local market. The first
doors were laminates, but this material, though very strong,
is not very versatile regarding door mouldings and limited the
number of models and styles.
In October 2001, Mr. Serge Barrette joined the management team
of Cuisines Excel inc. with the mandate of promoting the five-piece
door to be sold to other cabinetmakers/kitchen designers.
Soon after, in June 2002, we started working with polyester,
a more versatile material than laminates, which allowed us to
offer doors with much more moulding detail. It was the now well-known
Excelsius door.
In April 2004, Lecxeco inc. was created to unlink kitchen and
bathroom cabinet production operations from those of cabinet
doors to be sold to other kitchen cabinet manufacturers.
